Once, monsters and demons roamed the lands, preying on the humans, split and weak. One day, about a millenia before the present day, the legendary King Firemane embarked on a great crusade, uniting the splintered world and banishing the demons from this world. This laid the foundation of a new, harmonious world Order.

As all men do, he eventually passed. His death caused tensions in the family, leading the great empire to fracture once more and erupt into a great war. The North emerged victorious, and proclaimed a new Order, born from the embers of the good King’s legacy: the Ashen Order.

About the Use of AI

I don’t use AI to edit my writing, ever. I do, however, use AI to create the images on my site to save time. But know this: I would be delighted to replace the AI images with your Fanart!

In fact, I am actively looking for artists to collaborate with. The aim of that collab is to have your art displayed in the commercial release of Project Soul. 

Here’s why: I’ve got visuals in my head that are a little difficult to translate into text alone – and nigh impossible for AI to accurately generate. So I need the help of a talented, engaged artist to help make this vision real.

I reluctantly use
AI for Images.

For those with a keen eye, this might be obvious. But here’s the formal disclaimer. Most of the images are AI. Here’s why. 

I suck at drawing. I have a clear image of the characters in my mind, but have no skill to put it to the page. And with the little time I have, I’d rather just write the story and leave the drawing to the experts.

I refuse to use
AI for Writing.

Consider it a matter of pride. But I cannot let my writing be so much as touched by AI. It means too much to me. Not even for editing.

If I did, I wouldn’t be much of a writer. And to top it of, the more I rely on AI to write my story for me, the more generic it becomes – and it would be used as training material for their models.

Never. Never will I let that happen. No AI when it comes to written text.

How can I support Project Soul?

Easy – just join our Discord. By doing that, you show interest in the Project, and that’s all I need for now. If you want to show further support, you can either:

  • Create some Fanart and submit it in the Discord
  • Take over community moderation
  • Donate to my Ko-Fi

Anything else would honestly be asking too much.

Can I read it for free or do I have to pay?

Chapters on this site are 100% free to read and enjoy. Do note they are not the final release version of the chapters, though – characters, locations, and even story events might change as I write.

The physical, paperback release will not be free, however, since those copies are planned to include detailed illustrations and a fine-tuned text edit for easier readability.

Can I create fanfictions or fanart?

Absolutely! In fact, I highly encourage it! Be sure to let me know about it, or ask me about the lore so I can help you through it. I will gladly advertise anything you create here as well!

Depending on your work, you also have a chance to become a member of the Project Soul team, as either an artist, beta reader or editor.

When's the next update dropping?

There’s no fixed update schedule. I will post in the Discord when the next update is set to drop, so join if you want to stay updated – other than that, if something changes, I will post it here.

Will there be physical copies for purchase?

Yes! The plan is to release the first book of Project Soul this year. Still working out on how and where purchases will be available, but updates will be posted here as they happen. 

Quick side note: there might be giveaways, which will be posted in the Discord. Don’t miss out!

Will Project Soul only be written in English?

Currently, yes. I might speak and write German fluently, but that doesn’t mean I have the time to translate every chapter. Eventually, that might happen, but it’s not planned in the near future.
